This is a Certificate Course, and all students who pass will receive a certificate of completion.

About the Course:

Gain hands on experience with social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, and WordPress. Develop new methods for networking for yourself and your organization. Discover new ways of getting your message across to the world around you. Start discussion, diversify opinions, and promote your cause or organization.


  • Responsible participation, punctuality, and respect for other members of the class.
  • All students will sign a student registration form.
  • A Laptop or home computer (keeping in mind we will be working in class, if you can bring a laptop to school that will help you learn).
  • Cellphone, IPad, or Smart Phone also a benefit.

Participants will learn how to use Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and how to connect their online profiles via their personal devices.

Students will be instructed in the value of creating a “brand” and using a system to develop followers, increase sales and develop fans.  Through the course Students will develop a social media marketing plan and implement it in a group project, to be determined in the class.

Techniques of teaching will involve lecture, hands-on activities, and role-playing. The first four classes will be mainly in lecture format and instruction focused and a mode for a final project will be chosen. In the last four weeks the class time will be mainly be devoted to an interactive group project.
